Editorial policy
Urban Weekly Briefing aims to make the built city easier to read. Our editorial approach is to explain carefully, distinguish fact from interpretation and make our standards visible to readers.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against suitable sources before publication and review the wording for context and clarity. Where an article describes an interpretation of a place or design, we present it as an interpretation rather than an established fact. We avoid unsupported precision and do not imply that a broad explanation settles a site-specific question.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to the publication’s subject and readers. A collaboration does not guarantee coverage or a favourable assessment. Material supplied by a partner does not determine independent editorial conclusions.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review specific, verifiable concerns and correct material when warranted; significant changes should be made clear in the article.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where used, they are labelled, and they should not be treated as documentary images of a real place.
A city is more than its skyline
Its character is also made in the street, the threshold and the spaces between destinations. We look at those details without reducing a city to a checklist or a postcard.
